Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni on March 31 said that having an impact player is a luxury as it makes decision making easier.
Under the newly introduced ‘Impact Player’ rule, a batsman or bowler can be replaced midway through the game to make the game more exciting depending on the match situation.
“It’s a luxury to be (an impact player). Decision making becomes a little easier because you can use it any time,” Dhoni said during the toss in the first match of the tournament between CSK and Gujarat Titans.
But the World Cup winning captain feels that this rule will reduce the role of an all-rounder in the team.
Dhoni said, “The effect of the all-rounder has reduced a bit because of the rule.”
