‘Higuita’ director Hemanth G Nair says that a lot of people advised him not to change the movie’s title | Malayalam Movie News

Talking to the media, Hemant said that he felt his dreams were shattered when the Corona outbreak affected the shooting of ‘Higuita’ in 2020. Even after clearing all hurdles, another issue cropped up regarding the title of the film, due to which the release of the Sooraj Venjaramoodu starrer was delayed.

Hemant told the media that ‘Higuita’ is a political thriller film which is made on the background of the northern district of Kerala. Speaking about the controversy regarding the title, Hemanth reportedly said that it was inspired by a Colombian footballer and has no relation to popular writer NS Madhavan’s short story. The director said that ‘Higuita’ is much more than the politics of contemporary Kerala.
Regarding the title controversy, Hemant reportedly said that most people advised him not to change the title of the film. He also said that a lot of people expressed solidarity and because of its suspense element, the director never expressed his desire to change the title of the film. He added further by saying that he decided to fight for the title and maintain his artistic choices.

‘Higuita’ has finally hit the theaters and is garnering a lot of positive response from the audience.
