Actor Rajinikanth has expressed his desire to act in a play at the new Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center in Mumbai.

supper star, who attended the grand opening of the center This week, stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas posted a note on social media congratulating Mukesh and Nita Ambani as well as their team.

He said that India’s first extraordinary world-class Broadway theater had arrived in style in Mumbai, and that The Great Indian Musical: Civilization to Nation was a “brilliant, patriotic, adorable and spellbinding show.”

Rajinikanth said that he now has a long dream; to enact a play in this “wonderful theatre” and expressed the hope that this would happen soon.

Ever since he was a schoolboy, the star has shown a keen interest in theatre, acting in several plays as a teenager, which earned him much acclaim. Even after becoming a bus conductor, Rajinikanth found time to act on stage before enrolling in an acting course at the Madras Film Institute. During his time there, he met filmmaker K.K. Balachander, after which Rajinikanth’s film career took off.

On the work front, the star is currently shooting for Jalik with director nelson, The film stars Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Jackie Shroff and Sunil among others.

The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center is a multidisciplinary cultural venue, set to showcase India’s finest productions in music, theatre, fine arts and crafts.
