Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik are about to start their week-long official tour of Japan on Monday to attract investment in the state. Naveen, who is leading a 35-member high-level delegation including government officials and industrialists, is scheduled to return here on April 11.
While some of the team members left for Delhi on Sunday to catch a flight to Japan, Naveen along with some officials will fly in a chartered flight from Bhubaneswar. Singapore, and from there to Japan on Monday. Naveen will return from Japan via Bangkok.

The state government signed an MoU with ArcelorMittal/Nippon Steel (AM/NS) to seek the expertise of Japanese coaches in the proposed setting up of a high-performance gymnastics center at the Kalinga Stadium with training centers at Puri, Rourkela and Jaipur. The delegation will also hold a round table discussion in Kyoto on opportunities for cooperation between Japan and Odisha in the tourism sector, focusing on Buddhist and eco-tourism sites in the state.

Naveen had addressed a foreign investment summit in Dubai in June 2022, his first outside India, where the state received investment proposals worth about Rs 22,000 crore.
