Nitish Kumar asks police to take stringent actions against troublemakers in riot-hit towns Bihar Sharif and Sasaram | Patna News


Patna: CM of Bihar Nitish Kumar A high-level review meeting was held on Sunday regarding the communal riots. Bihar Sharif and Sasaram Told the towns and police officers to take toughest action against trouble makers to restore peace in both the towns during Ram Navami festival.
Chairing a high-level meeting with state Chief Secretary Aamir Subhani, DGP RS Bhatti and other top bureaucrats at the ‘Sankalp’ hall of the CM residence, Nitish asked civil and police officials to remain alert and maintain law and order – Torn Biharsharif and Sasaram “at any cost.”
“Keep a constant vigil in the sensitive areas and ensure that no one can create mischief in any situation. Take the toughest action after identifying the real wrongdoers,” Nitish told the officials at the meeting.
The CM also spoke to the Divisional Commissioner of Patna, DIG (Dehri-on-Sone Range) and District Magistrates and SPs of Nalanda and Rohtas and took stock of the latest situation in both the cities.
He asked the Chief Secretary and DGP to interact with all the DMs and SPs through video conferencing and ensure that anti-social elements do not succeed in creating communal disturbances in any part of the State.
Nitish also spoke to the father and brother of the youth killed during the communal disturbance in Bihar Sharif on Saturday and ordered an ex-gratia amount of Rs 5 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to the family of the deceased youth.
The CM further asked the police and civil officials to keep updating the media by holding regular press conferences so that no one can mislead the people by spreading rumours.
“Keep a constant eye on the rumor mongers and nab them,” he told the officials.
