Noted author Sarah Thomas passed away on March 31, 2023 at her residence in Thiruvananthapuram due to age-related ailments, family sources said. She was 88 years old.

His famous work ‘Narmadipudav’ won the award Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 1979. He was awarded the Academy Award in 2010 for his overall contribution to Malayalam literature.
Four of his works were made into feature films in Malayalam.
His second novel ‘Muripadukal’ was made into a film titled ‘Manimuzhakkam’, which won several national and state awards.
He has written more than 20 literary works including ‘Daivamakkal’ and ‘Jeevithamena Nadi’.
Family sources said the funeral services would be held at his residence on April 1 and the cremation at the Pattur Marthima Church cemetery.
