SMG collaborates with NGO to support primary education in 22 villages


Ahmedabad, Suzuki Motors Gujarat (SMG), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese automobile giant, Suzuki Motor CorporationRecently Ahmedabad based Dr. KR Shroff Foundation (KRSF) to support Primary education in 22 villages of Ahmedabad, Surendranagar And mehsana districts.
The collaboration is aimed at furthering the state government’s initiative of quality education for all through improving the quality of education and betterment of education facilities in government primary schools, KRSF said in a statement. Both the companies have mutually decided to support the students of government primary schools in the respective villages.
SMG will support KRSF with a financial grant commensurate with the scope and size of the project to cover capital expenditure and operational costs for the next three years – the duration of the project’s implementation. KRSF will start with a foundational learning approach by providing specialized coaching to weak students of classes 5-8 who struggle with reading, writing and basic arithmetic. In the schools where there is shortage of teachers, the organization will also take regular classes there.
“The collaboration with SMG will expand our efforts in the education sector to more villages in Ahmedabad, Mehsana and Surendranagar districts,” said Pratul Shroff, founder of KRSF.
