Visakhapatnam: The Waltair Railway Division Created history by excelling in all departments when it came to generating revenue.
Against all odds, the division did its best in loading, passenger traffic and revenue, energy conservationsecurity, catering, ticket checking, non-fare revenue, Miscellaneous incomeand other areas.
800 Crore in revenue and 3 MT of freight in this financial year as compared to the previous financial year, this division has brought 27.86 million passengers safely to their destinations and carried 69.63 million tons of freight to different parts of the country, earning 9,294 crore Earned revenue of Rs. performance of the year.
They are the best ever record in the history of Waltair Division and have exceeded the targets set by the Railway Board. It is recalled that the division had achieved Rs 8,498.86 crore in revenue and also carried 66.88 MT of freight in the financial year 2021-22.
Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Anup Satpathy said that March 31, 2023 would be marked in golden letters for the highest ever loading and highest ever revenue achievement of the 125 year old division.
He said that this rare achievement has been possible due to excellent performance of all departments in the division despite various constraints like natural calamities, security reasons, doubling and tripling line works, low demand of iron ore and other safety related modernization works. ,
